Spring Break: Womens Sustainable Swimwear

Greetings Fashion University students!

Spring break is right around the corner which means that it is time to revive tried and tested swimwear! Sustainability is now our way of life, however finding items that are made from ethical brands poses more of a challenge for swimwear than other categories of fashion. Companies like Shien, Cupshe, Romwe, etc. are among the first sites that many people shop, and their swimsuit prices which range from $10-$20 allows buyers to purchase several swimsuits at a time. That being said, because of their poor quality they are typically thrown out at the end of the season, contributing tremendously to waste in the fashion industry. Now that consumers are more concerned with sustainability, sustainable swimwear brands are starting to become more common. While sustainable swimwear may cost more than fast fashion swimsuits, they should last you more than one summer, and that price tag will not be at the expense of garment factory workers and the environment.
